The custom rosary you created for the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe is beautiful; with the Crucifix modeled after the Crucifix in the Shrine Church, the images of the four Church Fathers, which are portrayed in the Shrine Church, and the image of Saint Juan Diego holding the Tilma. We recently completed a major renovation project on our parish and I wanted some physical token to celebrate the completion of this major project and to allow our parishioners to always have a tangible memorial of their church. So I contacted Ghirelli to see about commissioning a custom rosary for our parish. I was at first hesitant, because I did not know how complicated the process might be. However, Dino was extremely helpful and reassured me that the process was quite simple. And he was right! All I had to do was to send various pictures of the elements of our church that I wanted included in the rosary and the Ghirelli design team did the rest.
My hope is that this rosary will not only serve as a keepsake for the members of my parish, but that it will also and especially serve to encourage them to pray the rosary daily for the salvation of souls!

The Holy Father urges us to pray the rosary daily, so picking one for The World Meeting of Families – Philadelphia 2015 was an important task. When we were presented with the designs from Ghirelli we were delighted! Their representation of the rosary with the theme of the World Meeting of Families was just what we were looking for. The rosaries Ghirelli has created are true collectors’ items and will be one of the most important keepsakes pilgrims can take away from the event.
When the idea of a basilica rosary first occurred to me I couldn't imagine the adventure that would unfold in the months ahead. Soon after I found the Ghirelli website our rosary team began working with Alessandro's design team. We worked closely with their representative here in the U.S. throughout the entire process -- which resulted in a quality rosary that is truly one of a kind and unique only to our basilica. The designs for the Our Father beads were converted to metal by the Italy team from hand drawings by a parishioner and artist, Jeanne Tasse, who originally designed them for the dome of the basilica. Working with professionals was helpful but the most important thing that added to our experience was working with a Christian family and their Christian representative who not only patiently went out of their way to accommodate our many requests for customization but exchanged prayers with us along the way.
